Mary Rose Challenge
Y5 were set a challenge to research materials and their properties to see which materials were permeable/impermeable/porous enabling them to design a sailboat. They were then tasked to select suitable materials, design and build their sailboat prior to testing it in their challenge. Their challenge was to make their sailboat float and carry treasure (money) from one side of a tub of water to the other. Were they successful?
